Small Car, Big Dreams: The Story of Rhett Pearce

As the sun beats down on the pavement, the roar of engines echoes in your ears. Inside the #71 mini cup car, gloved hands grip the steering wheel just a little tighter. Heart pounding. Helmet snug. The green flag is moments away. Only 12 years old, but here to race – to win.
This is the world of Rhett Pearce, also known as Rhettro Racing, a rising star in Canada’s youth auto racing scene, and the young driver PBS is proudly sponsoring this year.
From the outside, Rhett’s car looks like a scaled-down version of a stock car. But don’t let the size fool you! These mini cup cars can hit over 100 km/h, and Rhett pilots his with skill far beyond his years.
Last season, Rhett raced against competitors several years older than him and walked away with “Rookie of the Year” and “Most Sportsmanlike.” Now, he’s kicked off the season with a first-place win and his very first cash prize.
He’s raced at the Medicine Hat Speedway, Edmonton International Raceway, and even shown off his car in the Crossfield Parade. When he’s not behind the wheel, you’ll find him on the ice, wearing the same #71 on his hockey jersey that flies across the track in summer.
At PBS, we know what it’s like to build something from the ground up and pursue excellence. Supporting Rhett isn’t just about racing, it’s about believing in the next generation; the kind of belief that creates champions, innovators, and leaders.
As Rhett pushes forward on and off the track, we’re proud to be in his corner, cheering him on every lap of the way.
